Maestral’s Victory at the Sandoz Hackathome 2020 – The Highlights

Maestral dominated the Sandoz Hackathome 2020!

The Hackathome

The event, described as a collaborative movement to reimagine access to healthcare, helping improve people’s lives around the world , took place between June 26 to June 28. It was organized by Sandoz, a unit of Novartis AG, a prestigious international pharmaceutical company, and a true leader in the field of medicine. The event was conducted remotely and exclusively online, with participants from 12 companies (from Europe and USA). Participating companies were selected by Novartis’s trusted partner Digital Knights, who specialize in matching organizations with pre-vetted, elite software development teams to support them in reaching their product objectives.

The Maestral Team

Four of our colleagues took part: Amar Bašić and Mladen Rajić in Team 1, and Irfan Kahvedžić and Tarik Mehmedović in Team 2. Team 1 won the hackathon challenge in the HR category (full title: “HR: Reimagine Career and Talent Development in a Highly Complex Organization”), with Team 2 also ranking highly in the same challenge and drawing significant praise from the stakeholders.

Both teams built excellent rapport with the internal members of their teams from Novartis and Sandoz. They used the opportunity to introduce them to the way Maestral Solutions approaches design thinking via the Innovate phase, and showcase the quality and speed of our development.

The Future

We, at Maestral, are more than proud of them all and excited about the results they achieved. It’s great to know that, due to their effort, some extraordinary people are now aware of the potential and capacity that Maestral Solutions can bring to these cutting-edge projects, both in terms of ideation, UX design and development. We re so pleased that this experience brought us together with the brilliant people of Novartis, hoping for another exciting collaboration in the future.
